Mission

Holland Road is a church committed to mission not only locally but in the world.  From neighbours to nations - we continue to grow in our partnership with people and places internationally, building relationships which are strategic, authentic and long-term.  We send people on invitation both long term and teams for a short periods; we pray and we give (financial gifts to world mission have been up to the third of the total outgoings of the church).

With such a breadth of interest and support, and a long history of involvement, we have had to focus on what God seems to be saying to us today. Our three main priorities as a church are existing partnerships, the poorest of the poor and places where there is no church.  We have significant partnerships in the Valleys of Wales, Rouen in France, with the Dalits in India, with Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, certain places in  North Africa and the Horn of Africa where there is no church - and of course, Brighton, where our heart for missions must be lived out day to day. 'Hope 09' aims to provide 1500 hours of local community service in our neighbourhood.  We have teams going out to these places throughout the year (including a team of 10 to India in October 09, and a number of visits to the Valleys of Wales, focused on the first week of July 09).

Come and celebrate World Week with us - the second week of May each year. Check this site for details, or speak to any of the World Missions Team, led by David & Laura Treneer and Phillip Deuk.  Contact us for a copy of our 'unlonely planet guide', a kind of annual review to our connections and support over the year.
