Missionary Bursary Fund

We have set up a fund to enable Holland Roaders with financial need to go on short term mission.

If you would contribute to the fund you can:

  • Give a general gift, which will be distributed on application to those who have a shortfall in their financial requirements for mission
  • Give an anonymous gift for a specific individual for the purpose of short term mission.

Contributions to the fund can be given in the offering, marked 'Mission Bursary Fund', or given directly to Jen Cottingham, Missions Treasurer.

If you would like to apply to the fund:

We would expect anyone applying to the missions bursary fund to be involved in the life of Holland Road Baptist Church, probably a member, and going on short term mission with the support and knowledge of their small group leader. A leaflet for those considering short term mission which may be helpful is available from Laura Treneer.

Please write a short letter (no more than 2 A4 sides) to the Missions Bursary Committee (which comprises three designated members of the world mission team) saying clearly:

  • Who you are
  • Describe the short term mission project/trip you plan to be involved with - when is it, who is it with, what do you hope to do and for how long
  • Why you feel God has called you to this?
  • What is the financial requirement?
  • How much of this amount have you already managed to save/raise? What measures have you taken towards this? How have you already seen God provide?
  • What is the remaining shortfall? When is this needed?

This letter can be given to the church office or to Laura Treneer, who will pass it on to the Missions Bursary Committee. Many thanks.
