Students

Being a student at university is both an exciting and challenging time. A chance to discover more about yourself, others and this world. Most importantly it is a chance to live for and be used by God in unique and exciting ways.

Holland Road welcomes students from the local Universities, colleges and language schools. We are committed to discipling students so that they are able to reach their full potential in their academic studies and in Christ.

Wherever you are in your own faith, we will help you to take the next step. We recognise that for some, leaving home for the first time can be hard so we help by providing a range of opportunities that seek to make this transition easier.

  • Our community is called Open Spaces and we meet throughout term time. We are a group of people, made up of undergraduates, Stacking pallets of powerade at the Brighton marathonpostgraduates and recent graduates who are committed to following Jesus and reaching out to those who don't know him.  At the moment we're meeting every Wednesday evening at Jonny and Laura's for food and and Bible study.  If the exam/dissertation time stress is getting to you then you're really welcome to just come by for food and leave.  We also meet once a month or so in the Park Crescent Pub as well as other meetings throughout the term.  Everything gets posted on Facebook if you want to check it out.

  • Discipleship happens in groups, as part of the community's life but we do encourage you to meet with someone regularly for prayer and support in your walk with Jesus.Good times at the Brighton marathon

  • We are one expression of community reaching out to a particular group of people but we are also part of a larger Tired at the end of a long day!community - the church - so it is important that there are plenty of opportunities to get to know other members of the church family by attending services, using your gifts and serving within the church or taking part in mission.

If you have any questions about the student community at Holland Road, contact Laura or Jonny Holman on 01273 732111 or email us through the website.

There are some great resources for students available at bethinking.org

If you're looking for the Sussex University Christian Union or Brighton University Christian Union then try these links. You could catch us at one of these meetings or by far and the best way is for you to turn up at church and find us there! We would love to meet you!

More information about specific events for International students is available from Matt Lovell.
